Publication Ethics
ESP Today and its Editorial team strive to adhere to the COPE code of conduct and best practice guidelines for journal editors.
ESP Today’s reviewers should adhere to the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers and objectively review manuscripts, declining to review those papers in which they have conflicts of interest, respecting the confidentiality of material supplied to them, and not discussing unpublished manuscripts with colleagues or using the information from unpublished manuscripts in their own work.
ESP Today strongly advises their authors to strictly follow the procedures and guidelines of COPE on good publishing practice. Any fabrication of data, plagiarism, self-plagiarism (duplicate publication of author’s own work without proper citation), misappropriation of the works of others, omission of information concerning financial support, redundant publication (except for abstracts and poster presentations at conferences), or any such examples of unethical publishing behaviour are considered highly unacceptable.
Should any author disregard the above recommendations, ESP Today reserves the right to reject, withdraw, or retract the paper (in line with the COPE guidelines on retraction).
ESP Today requires that AI tools be used solely to improve the accuracy, clarity, and readability of the English language in the manuscript. These tools must not be employed to generate original content or to substitute for the author’s own analytical contribution.
Authors submitting to ESP Today are required to disclose any use of generative AI during the preparation of their manuscript at the time of submission. This information will also be included in the Acknowledgements section in the published article.
AI tools cannot be listed as an author of a paper. ESP Today requires all authors who use genAI tools to adhere to Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines on “Authorship and AI Tools”.
